This is a parody of a book written by Pablo Helguera which I picked up an English translation of last year.
It took several months to pull this one off but it's done. Thanks to several actors and friends in SF/DC part 1 of this video project is online. Last year I read this book parody about getting ahead in the Contemporary Art World and thought it would be fun to adapt to video.
The book itself is a concept piece equating art world advancement to chess but I wanted a less arcane interpretation. So I decided to take a step further into relevance by using a video roll play game analogy. The book suggests a hybridization between the unreality of gaming with life itself. The title of Chris Matthew's book last year went so far to say that life is a campaign. Are people beginning to apply gamespace diegesis or fictional story telling and action to life like "The Art of War" or "The Prince"? Sun Tzu and Machiavelli are applied to modern business and politics and financial meltdowns occur because all the rules and loopholes are not understood. What is to say that game logic and strategy does not uniquely inform our actions now as Machinima Verité.
Thanks to all who were a part of this and gave their time to this project
