Séamus & Manus McGuire from Sligo play two reels-- two brothers,two fiddles, two doctors, two brilliant musicians.
Seamus and Manus are from Sligo town. Seamus is a consultant in the General
Hospital in Letterkenny, County Donegal. and has released a scorching
recording with fellow Letterkenny resident (native of Co. Leitrim) Sean Lee
on flute entitled An Ril ar Lar (prn = uhn reel air laar - The missing
reel". Manus is in general practice in east Clare. Their recording "The
Humours of Lisadell" is probably most representative of their duet playing.
Manus is also a member of the band "Moving Cloud" who have recently
recorded.

Maybe Seamus will see this post -we hope so! Kuwait early 1980's the Ri-Ra! - thankyou for healing our baby daughter's nappy rash! She went on to play violin, can this be a coincidence - attending all those Ahmadi folk club sessions. Two more musician babies followed, pianist and another fiddle player! Great to find this clip of you and Manus - happy memories!

ha this is great. my last names McGuire as well. So glad the maker of this movie didn't forget to make the "G" upper case.
fiddle, flute, and a druken mans voice are the official musical instruments of Ireland.
The Irish are proud and we play it loud!

Jan,
I remember meeting them in a pub called "The Meeting Place" in Dublin in the 80's. There used to be great sessions there of a Thursday night. ♥
