I drink plenty of beer, too ... and I've never seen ANYTHING like this! I really like that he says how it's given him insight into "... all the problems the real creator must have had ..." Notice the little dog, wagging its tail, trotting behind as the creatures walk along the beach. Looks like the creator solved most of his problems.

Actually if you carefully study these designs, they are not that complex. They are modular and by using many legs they give the impression of being very complex and coordinated.
Just look at a single mechanism and how a rotation in the center part causes the leg-like movements.

Theo Jansen is a damn genius... its amazing how complex these "animals" are using only bottles, electrical conduit(tubing), and the tubes to carry the stored air. They can detect water and dry sand and even have a binary "computer" that measure the steps so it knows where it is at all times.
