@SpaceSnaxxx Follicular carcinomas of the thyroid are a particular kind of adenocarcinoma. There is nothing wrong with calling it a follicular adenocarcinoma, but traditionally the "adeno-" prefix is almost always dropped in thyroid tumors, perhaps because it's understood to be a glandular carcinoma as you suggest.

This may sound naive, and if so I apologize, but why isn't it called an adenocarcinoma? I've been taught that malignant glandular neoplasms are described by this term, but your title lacks this. Is it an unnecessary classification when discussing the thyroid because it's known to be a gland?

it doesnt look poorly demarcated from the surrrounding tissue at all to me...its very clearly demarcated grossly
