Evangeline knew John better than Natalie. I read a Q&A with Michael Easton back @ this time he said " John really like Nats loyalty and lust for life, with Evangeline it will never be closure for them and it was a good thing they were married to others" that how ME feltabout these two women even if i felt John should have been with Evangeline. ME also said "John was hurt more than he would like to admitt when Van broke up with him, and thats when John started to unravel John became lost".

@1:29 Cris said to Natalie he doesn't know how he's going to sit through the ceremony without thinking of their wedding, if you guys saw the clip of the wedding ceremony when Cris saw Evangeline looking beautiful, Natalie was not on his mind at all during the ceremony, Evangeline was the only person on his mind he couldn't keep his eyes off her. REG is the best!!!!!!!!

Cris did not have to kiss Natalie but John should have kissed Evangeline. He didn't want to admit that he was in a relationship with Natalie (calling it a friendship). He stills can't help but smile around Evangeline. He smiles with his mouth and eyes and it is great to see.

Natalie has John and still can't keep him away from Evangeline. John kept a promise to Evangeline that he'll be there for her and vice versa. One promise he didn't kept was not to hurt her. I believe he's trying to make a mends and doesn't care what Natalie thinks.
