Funeral Home Website SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Every funeral home website should include a XML Sitemap. This is the recommendation from Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft as the preferred way to update the search engines about your site. Also, every page should be titled separately so that when visitors are searching for more specific terms, your site's pages will have a better chance to be at the top.

  • xml sitemaps are used for INDEXING, not RANKING. If all the pages on a site are linked and have proper meta tags there is no need for an xml site map.

The lack of proper meta tags on Amos is why you can only see them if you google their name.

  • Dear Azerax1974,

Yes, sitemaps are used for indexing, and for pages to rank, they need to be indexed. Why wouldn't you go the little trouble of submitting your xml since that is recommended by the search engines. Also, you may not have followed the entire conversation as this was a video response to another video. Search Amos' site was only to demonstrate the Title Tags for individual pages. If you could further help me understand your position, can you point to an example or a video? Thanks
