While driving home from work in June of 2007 I ran into a hailstorm. This video will show you what a van will look like after getting pummeled with softball size hail.

  • @cfbmd your calculations are missing something , Glass is a liquid and when you cool it the atoms slow done which makes the glass less flexable the result more damage so calculate in the temperature of the glass which is directly proportional to the resonate frequency of the atoms which changes the speed of the atoms which ultimately changes the string theory path of the orbit of the atoms , making the molecule of glass more brittle WEEEE put your money into canned food and shotguns

  • What...?

Velocity and mass have everything to do with it:

Newton's Second Law: Second Law: A body experiencing a force F experiences an acceleration a related to F by F = ma, where m is the mass of the body. This means that an object will accelerate with acceleration proportional to the force and inversely proportional to the mass. Alternatively, force is equal to the time derivative of momentum.

Assuming you are not in a vacuum....then velocity and mass are not related...;-)

  • @1nm1

Wind resistance. falling speed has nothing to do with mass.

  • holy cow, that sucks sorry.

  • how come all the LARGE hail only dented the windshield, while the only golf ball size hail appears to have gone through the windshield???
