You see them all over Europe; but who killed all the electric street cars in America?

Answer: GM The same people you bailed out this year with billions upon billions of free tax payer money!

Criminal conspiracy chargers were pressed resulting in a fine of one dollar.

Meanwhile, places that lost their street cars like LA, will need 150 billion to replace just a small portion of the electric street car system!

How beautiful the world would be if the USA wasnt run by elites who legally bribe their politicians.

I used to love the beautiful ride on the Pittsburgh electric street cars Forever gone thanks to bribes to Politicians & criminal conspiracy by GM!

Americans have the government they deserve!

  • Since electric street trolleys run off of fossil fuels anyways (or nucleur power at the very least) isn't it somewhat inefficient to spend tax dollars on a $150 billion track system when GM can mass produce a bus system at a fraction of the cost?

Do electric motor systems truly run off fuel THAT much more effeciently than a gasoline motor?

or would displacement of pollution be the main goal?

(Just my 2 cents, and it's just speculation; i'm not trying to put off my opinion as hard fact)

  • The reason the rest of the world uses electric trolleys is because they are more efficient & cleaner than fuel burning vehicles

But you raise a valid point in that mobilization processes are available that are even more efficient

Can you imagine where the USA would be if US Corporations had not been permitted to buy off politicians? Why, there might even be trains in the USA as fast as those in China & Japan!

  • Do you work for CBS? Like them, you are short on the facts.

  • I understand your federally mandated American education was created by Rockefeller & Dewey so that you may become another "passive cog in the wheel of society"

I can tell because anyone educated elsewhere would "debate" rather than limit themselves to uncivilized pejoratives

Why don't you give it a try: Explain the merit of your claim

Try it: See if you can rub together a couple brain cells to create a spark of dialog

  • GM was created by oil men in response to Henry Ford starting a switch to alcohol based fuel (away from petroleum). They made what appeared to be 5 companies who's cars used the "old reliable" fuel (and incidentally had hoses that melted if used with Henry's new alcohol fuel). Consumers bamboozled, Ford gave it up and went back to gasoline. Win for what was then Standard Oil.

  • @SaintTroll What insight! Trying to shoot the messenger rather than the message. Very good, now you can go to the second grade.

  • @Matchu80 Car engines are very inefficient in converting gasoline to usable power. Power plants often use fossile fuels for an energy source but they convert the fuel to usable energy much more efficiently. Plus electric street cars get all the benefits of hybrid vehicles (efficient electric motors and regenerative breaking) without the need to heavy and expensive batteries.

  • @Matchu80 you raise some interesting questions. The only thing i wanted to comment on was " street trolleys run off of fossil fuels anyways (or nucleur power at the very least) " Nuclear power is order of magnitudes cleaner for the environment than fossil fuels (from a climate change perspective) Although my comment is null and void if you are a person who is anti-nuclear power (what to do with the waste seems to be an issue.)

  • 5000 Dollar Fine

    wow what justice

try to steal a pack of cigarettes and you might end in jail no fine

  • @MsLutae Interesting. I've never heard that before. Do you have a suggested reference. When I checked out the Wiki on this subject (and the links) it was pretty clear GM wasn't responsible for the fall of the streetcars as a whole.

  • @Corvetteably What Smeogul says about GM is true: formed by oil men, they stifled Ford's alcohol fuel, as well as several electric car designs and streetcars (as is being espoused in this vid).
