Please just read this first. If you're going to dump my rating or send me hate mail for uploading this, at least have the courtesy of finding out more about Falwell's remark.

If 'haters' are willing to know more about this event, please start by reading more about it here:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200609250004

BUT if others are as ready to demonize Falwell for his remark, as Falwell himself is ready to demonize Hillary Clinton, then *you're* not getting the big picture, either.

"Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton on the left, or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right." -John McCain, 2000

I believe that as much today as the day he said it. I shook his hand at a rally that same year, with just as much admiration as I had shaken the hand of Bill Clinton, 4 years earlier, when he landed at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, where I was stationed at the time.

I don't mind if you hate Clinton, or Bush, or even McCain, for that matter. All I ask is that we all form that opinion for good reasons, based on *factual* events, and don't resort to demonizing *or* lionizing people.

Just go to the same effort finding out if you're WRONG to believe something, as you do finding out that you're RIGHT.

Thank you *all* for reading this, and afterwards, for giving me whatever rating you honestly believe I deserve for saying it.

  • Right on target 15. I have subscribed to you. I like your politics ;-)

  • Thx! I'm trying to have a lot more than just politics to offer, in the stuff I'm writing now. It's important, especially in the last month (and as long as we have boots onthe ground in Iraq).

But I'll be glad after tomorrow, that the vote is cast and we can hopefully all progress, as a nation.

  • Please just read what I have to say in the Description before you dump my rating out of ignorance.

    Thank you. :-)

  • It's too bad that most of the idiots that voted for GWB just because of gay marriage, will never understand the havoc they caused this country, and the world, because of their own homophobia. Y'know,'cause they're idiots.

"I'd rather have a nuclear war, than have fags marry!!"

    Idiots.

  • Falwell is a minion of Satan. May his eternal life be filled with Teletubbies.

  • Falwell reminds me of the Biblical saying about being aware of false prohits...in other words he is the wrong person to be talking about Lucifer.

  • enflamed over gay marriage, haha.

  • yeah hahaha....the people of america are getting played like little fucking stupid puppets....for america too be truly the land of the free there needs too be an uprising within its people too overthrow the tyrants who run thier country and lie too them. fuck bush, kerry, mccain, clinton, and motherfuck bush he and his father are both tools of the devil.

  • I loved McCain's rejection of the agents of intolerance. It sucks that his honesty wasn't enough to win over most Conservatives, forcing him to resort to appeasing them by visiting Liberty Univ. Sigh...

  • I like the way you think.

  • appreciate mccain. its too bad he will never win the votes. he's just too real.

  • i think his real name is degrading enough. falwell? it reminds me of falstaff.

  • Falwell croaking = one less major dingleberry on Earth.
