"SCARLET RIBBONS~ Recorded in 1958. From the album "Joan Baez In San Fransico" Joan says: When I was 17 and still in high school, two guys approached me and said, "Hey little girl, would you like to make a record?". They were rogues but I didn`t know that. I had no career designs at that time but I said, "That sounds kind of neat". And off we went to San Franciso. I recorded everything I knew on a gigantic borrowed Gibson guitar. They sent it off to some record companies and the responses came back, "Well, she has anice voice, but..." Then they put the tapes away and I forgot all about it until 1964 when I got a letter asking me how I wanted the royalties from my new release. Big shock!" "Scarlet Ribbons" is one of Joan`s very first recordings while she was still in high school!
