Generalissimo Thomas Sowell??? Really??? Have you ever read anything this man has written?
His autobiography is one of the most inspiring stories I have ever read. He is one of the greatest intellectuals in American History, and he speaks nothing but common sense. I will never understand the hate for this man, he is one the smartest people I have ever had the privilege of reading or listening to.

Neo and paleocon are misleading attempts to separate the two Januses of conservatism. One looks forwards to a future run by amoral heroic businessmen (Ayn Rand) and the other looks to a past that never existed (the supposed values of the Founding Fathers). Both are defined by the ideology of hierarchy, religious mysticism and inequality. Those are the hallmarks of conservative ideology where ever you find it in the world (Saudi Arabia, Iran or Arkansas).

I love Dr Sowell but I would say Mitt Romney mould make a much better candidate than president. he's an opportunist, another neocon that says all the right things but understands none of them, practicing more precisely the ideals of progressives than lovers of liberty. both conservatism and progressivism are illogical doctrines; one praises the virtue of economic freedom, the other social freedom. but in reality neither group respects the rights of individuals to life and liberty.

i like to bash a good neocon as well as the next guy, but Sowell is NOT some Bush-Rove type interventionist fake intellectual NEOcon. He is a true conservative/libertarian and a deep thinker. I suggest you give some of his writings a once over.

Pseudo-intellectual? Really? Isn't amazing the first ones to poke fun at people's intellects are always so stupid. Agree with him or not, Sowell is one of the sharpest minds in the world.
