Mr. Smith, I presume you have won many prestigious international competitions to be able to talk with such impunity and precision regarding Feltsman's technique. So, Shouldn't you know countless volumes have been devoted to Baroque keyboard practice and the topic is far too debated and controversial for even someone so decorated as yourself to make such an oversimplified statement that Feltsman's playing is un-baroque?

If you can produce for me the "original" recording of this piece by Bach, I would like to hear it. Otherwise keep your ignorant mouth shut you pretentious moron.

smithsherman you, like so many others who comment on this site are pretending to sound knowledgeable. In fact, most of Feltsmans playing is demonstrative of correct phrasing, gesture, direction, and the rest (exact opposite of "typewriter" sound) that is the purpose of what he is doing here. At the end he even says "this is not Czerny". your statement that the playing is devoid of "performance practice" is utter nonsense. and I don't have enough room here to explain why.

What piece is he playing?

Dear Lourak,I'm not going after anybody.Wake up.I'm commenting on this video performance alone.
The typewriter like sound probably happened due to not having a perfect recording device. The sound is amazing under Feltsman's fingers! The girl is just learning. But Mr. Feltsman does have an unusual style of teaching. Always displeased with his students' playing, He never gives a certain answer how to fix this or that, but his lessons are so interesting and mind-activating, that I'm imposed to find my own solution. But the singing sound and clear phrases - is what he is known for.

Dear Pchel,It's not the tone production which captures the "typewriter'quality...but the un-baroque...completely equalized articulations and democratic phrase heirarchies.

Who is according to your opinion producing a typewriter sound? Mr. Feltsman or a girl? Mr.s Feltsman's articulation as well as phrasing has clarity that sometimes I think he talks through music. I think he actually might. At the end of this video he shows a little how to divide phrases that's why I posted this video.
