This is phenomenal playing. Shaun Guerin's fills around 3:20 are mind blowing. All the guys are tremendously talented.
How did Shaun Guerin die? I want to find more of his music. What a shame that he's not with us. His poor father died of heart failure only a year later at only 64 years old. So sad. :-(

This is truly incredible stuff. Each of these guys are monsters. Wish there was more music like this out there to see live!

Btw, I'm duly impressed! Gary is astounding. His recreations illuminate how spectacular Emerson and Jobson were/are and rekindle my fascination. It's absolutely FANTASTIC to hear a worthy, hot bass player cookin' on ELP and UK. Wetton and Lake are primarily singers, in my opinion. Shaun [was] so amazing, too!!!!

All right, I posted way too much music on here. I apologize. Let's simplify the whole thing to help you to a better start. Sixteen high consistency albums, and you can be sure that every note will tell with the same integrity and musicianship as you found 35 years ago. Note that this is hardly everything that's out, but it's a great start!
Best of luck in your music hunting endeavors, and let us know what you think and discover along the way!

I played in a prog band with a drummer who sang lead. It requires intense discipline. ELP, UK, Genesis (early), King Crimson etc. has a small, loyal following, but for those who have prog in their blood, it's what floats their boat. Who's producing new prog? Any suggestions?
greger1 5 years ago
I have many suggestions, but first it would be relevant to know your position on progressive metal and R.I.O. If you're not interested in where prog has gone in those directions, then I won't recommend any of that. Also, how new? '80s, '90s, this century?
