my mate chris got a new 4x4 & decided to take it up to powmill quarry so we could dive.

Looks as if it was a great day there: wish I'd been diving too! Was the viz as good as ever? Is the access only difficult near the main road or is it boggy going up the hill too?

the viz was as good as always.

the track up is pretty firm, the road access is the main boggy part.

you would not be able to pass it in anything less than a 4x4.

great video (spielberg eat your heart out!), as for needing a 4x4, i've managed up there in a old ford fiesta and more recently in a vauxhall agila (photos to prove it) :-)
