The series is adapted from the novel An Epic of a Woman 一个女人的史诗 from the acclaimed author Yan Geling. Vicki Zhao plays as Tian Su Fei. The male actors are Liu Ye 刘烨 (as OuYang Yu 欧阳萸) and Sun Chun 孙淳 (as Du Han 都汉). The story spans across several decades, from 1947 to 1980, during a period of changes, revolutions and unrests in China. Put simply, its a coming of age story of a woman's life, most importantly, her love life.
