My favorite disc golf course just got removed because of Pot Smokers. I put up a blog post about it on my blog, Do-It-Yourself Einstein. Just check out diyeinstein on Google, my article will be in the November Blog Archive.
There are many dvd's out there that are free, mrhocuspocus. This just isn't one of them. And yes, YouTube is free. How long did it take you to figure that out?
If you have been playing for 8 years you should know that the best way to promote the sport is to go out and play. People come up to me all the time and want to know what I am doing. I sometimes give them a disc and offer them to join in.
Mrhocuspocus, like regular golf, disc golf is fast becoming a revenue producing sport. The people who take the time(hours and hours) to video, edit and produce these videos SHOULD be compensated for their time. You should know that nothing is free. It's called capitalism in case you have been in a cave for most of your life.
Rule #1 expand your market before you start charging for a dvd.
I love disc golf and have been playing for 8 years now. I have already pre-ordered my dvd because i already am into disc golf. However, I think the pdga needs to rethink the marketing for this sport. This should be available for free, if the pdga cannot get it on espn then put it on the net for a free download. Anyone who isnt already dedicated to the sport will never see this footage.....

Actually it's costing Google about 700+ million dollars a year for us to watch for "free" and leave stupid comments. Just sayin'.

In the end you make a minimal fee off the dvd's and less people are exposed to the sport.
