Mayor Cory Booker, Capital One Bank New Jersey State President Doug Kennedy, and West Side High School Principal Derrick Davis welcome the 2010-2011 Capital One Class of Student Bankers at West Side High School in Newark on October 7, 2010.

Ten students from West Side High School were selected to run and operate a bank branch inside their school this year under the supervision of Capital One Bank management. In addition to offering students and faculty basic banking services, the ten students are also responsible for promoting financial literacy skills among the student body.

Opened in 2008, the West Side High School branch is one of three in-school bank branches operated by Capital One Bank in the Tri-State area. The other two are located at Fordham LeadershipAcademy for Business and Technology in The Bronx and at Thurgood Marshall Academy for Learning and Social Change in Harlem.
