@mariobro890 The Famicom controller had a mic like the DS has. It was used in many games like Zelda.

and notice the intro of Banjo-Kazooie Grunty says

To make 8-bit songs, download a MIDi of the song and use GXSCC
Drag the song file once saved into the GXSCC window when opened
