One time I was going like 8 mph on a lawnmower and this cop car passed me at least doubling my speed and he made me feel like I had it in reverse. I didn't know it was a cop car until the next day because I had too much wind in my eyes. I mean I was legal but it was partially my fault because I should have been wearing goggles.

I almost got in a wreck with a trooper who was pulling this stunt. I go to pass another car, look in mirror and nobody behind me for several hundred feet. Just before I start moving into the left lane the trooper screams by me. No lights on of course.

The high speed is a tactic to sneak up on speeders. But who is really endangering the public more? A guy doing 10 over or some cop doing 40 over to catch the guy doing 10 over?

is that a WI state trooper? I remember I was on my way to Madison one time and crested a hill doing about 95 when i saw the blue state trooper sitting in the center about a half mile ahead. brought it down to 70 and he didn't even come after me. Crazy

@todengine : Or the cop was late for their moonlighting job. This was the case not too long ago in Florida where a Miami PD officer was doing 120+ mph without lights because they were running late for another job. That cop was chased down by a Florida state trooper.

In my town local cops ride around in brand new supercharged chargers and click on lights and sirens whenever thier is a red light or stop sign when they just happen to be doing 50mph in a 35mph zone or another one is the town up from me has cops parked behind buildings where you can't see them so when you are passing a car in the passing lane like I was right when you are getting back into the proper lane you are going to fast to slow down back to 10 over or less you get a ticket like I did.
