Husaberg FE 650 Drag Race (Best 12.7/166km/h)

(I'm sorry about windy sound and crappy video quality, this is recorded with canon still camera.)

My friend testing Husaberg Fe650 on strip at airport of Pori/Finland. Bike is enduro model with supermoto wheels. Exhaust is from Remus. Best 1/4 mile time was 12.7/166km/h and it was driven without air filter.

The other bike driven by my other friend, it is Suzuki GSX1000R K6 with arata exhaust, quickshift and new injection/ignition control unit.

We have never tested but wild quess, about 190km/h? might be more or less, depending driver's body angle on the seat :)

Sounds windy: Was the wind behind, ahead, or from the side?

I was wondering how fast a Husa 650 was. BTW, according to old cycle world road tests, the mid 80's Yamaha XT600 and Honda XL600 dual sports ran around 13.80 or 13.60. I had both. Top speed was over 100 on the XT, I think around 105, perhaps 110.

Whats the Berg top out at?

If I remember correctly it was littlebit side wind. That Canon still camera has crappy mic and it records those wind sounds too easily. It was not so windy.

because its a big single, if you add a few more cylinders it will sound a lot busier at the same revs

im 85kg, and even if i put all my weight as far forward as i can, i still cannot keep the front down, 1st 2nd and 3rd. the only way to get a half decent launch with this bike is to be easy on the throttle or extend the swing arm 12"s :P i have raced many bikes on road and none of them stood a chance, most dont even bother because they dont want to look stupid! husaberg 650 = the best all round bike money can buy full bloody stop ;)

bad launch..supermoto should've had the jump up to about 80-100km/h...not too far in a bike race but still.

i think the husa has 6 gears so should easy hit 200km/h with stock sprockets.

Not sure about a litre sportsbike, but I know that this 650 has a quicker 0-60 time than a 600cc bike. They have a ridiculous amount of bottom-end power.

Thing is though, they're not built for speed... a supermoto will never win a drag race against a sportsbike (unless it's a very short one). They have poor aerodynamics and only 1 cylinder. But put them both on a twisty road and the sportsbike will get spanked (the difference in wet weight between a GSXR1000 and a Husaberg FE650 is about 80kg).

@Gregusan the husaberg has much better acceleration than the XT600. i had a husaberg FE600 and my friend had a XT600. after only a few meters he gave up because he didnt stand a chance against the FE600

@Symbiote93Return Comparing those two bikes on a straight is like putting a mouse up against a snake. The straight is where the Berg will lose. Especially against that thing. Put them both on a go-kart track. Feel the difference.
