In Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit SLS AMG reporter Matthew K. had the opportunity to do a taxi ride with F1 safety car driver Bernd Mayländer. Enjoy the ride! For a comparison to the Laguna Seca Circuit go to http://www.sls-amg-reporter.com.
@tubemaster2703 The safety car is much slower than the F1 car. The pace at which the F1 cars go at under a yellow is pretty fast compared to normal driving but it seems fairly slow to the drivers. So the safety car almost has to drive on the limit to maintain the same pace as the F1 cars. The pace car's driver is almost racing in a way.
@nuncahomo I see now.

@QuertrGTRR Isn't there a race version of the SLS-AMG?

@QuertrGTRR That does not really make much sence to me.

@tubemaster2703
because the safety car always drives near the limit, while the f1 are "slow"

If he's the pace car driver, how come he's waring a helmet?
