I'm very, very novice. I've watched some videos of hand wrapping techniques, and decided...what the heck, I know why hand wrap is needed. So I decided to experiment until I came up with something on my own which pleased me. I use 108 in. wraps, which are just for practice, and novice. The traditional is 180 in. If you're using 180 inches, I recommend that you wrap around the wrists and knuckles with the extra. Also, cradle the thumb better.
These are the steps I used.

Around Wrist
Around the palm, between the Thumb and Index.
Around Knuckles once
Cross on top of the hand, between index and Thumb
Around the thumb and small knuckle.
Around the thumb and middle/ring
Around the thumb and middle/index,
Around thumb, up across and around knuckles.
Between thumb and index, across and under the thumb.
Back around the thumb, and around wrist.

It does it's part in protecting the knuckles, whist and thumb, and it also looks pretty good and neat :)
I'm a neat freak. Sue me.
Enjoy, Rate, and don't flame. Instead, I'm open for any suggestions.

  • i use 108 inches also, and we wrap our hands identically.

  • The Thumb is wrapped properly enough to prevent from damage. The thumb has to be wrapped tight enough so there isn't much movement when you flex all your fingers.

  • since when do u go through each finger
