come on you put the Doors in with all this other alternative metal stuff. That's not cool. They don't even fit in with these other bands. The Doors are a completely different plain of musicality than any of these groups. Not to say that these bands are bad. You had some decent ones on here, and I'm not saying that The Doors are the best band in the world either just saying they don't fit in with all of the others. Not by a long shot. Nore do KISS. @casafebs Thank you Bro!!! Finally someone with genre awareness. Hard Rock is not metal. Hard rock was influence by blues rock, rock and roll, rythym and blues, garage rock, and psychedelic rock.  It is characterized mainly for repetitive riffs and a strong base drum with a back beat on the snare.

Let's see, disturbed, Korn, Disturbed,(nu metal) RATM(Rap Metal) Manson(industrial). The closest thing to hard rock is Metallica and their pure metal. WhenI type in "Hard Rock" i am thinking of the contemporary versions of ACDC, Led Zeppelin, GNR, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Motley Crue(the crue has a few good songs I like), Dokken, Night ranger, Velvet Revolver (even though some of thier stuff has an alt rock influence) and of course Aerosmith.
