@reddragonlaser building a bridge over the hole you make, after getting one lemming to dig through the left pillar, pull a 180 at the right spot (I cant do it) and build an incline to the plaform below your hole. Make the hole last of course

Alternatively, make the digger build *just* before he runs out of terrain, then make him a digger again after he's built two bricks. He'll leave a little "step" that allows the lemmings to jump down.

that's how i did it on the PS version. the homebrew DS version won't let that work though, cause the lemmings land, then exit. not pretty...

Cool, this was my first solution to the level also, modulo the distance from the top that the fall was from (all the way in my case).
