its not the 956 its the 917 from the 1970s

this is a great video by the way, really good quality and evoking great memories

@miauw777 yeah... and you can add catch fencing, further and further restricted viewing at places like Arnage, and I even get annoyed thinking of all those great little individual cafes, bars and food outlets back in the 80s, replaced with corporate tedium. Big shame... but still a brilliant weekend away :-)

I'm affraid it's all because of health and safety even in Motorsport.
Anything designed to curtail the speed of racecars ie chicanes is there to prevent accidents and slow cars down.
-
sadly it never comes back, due to the f**king
chicanes! And they must ban dieselpowered engines. The the good days will return!

395.89km/h on the Mulsanne in 1983. That's fast in anyone's language.
And they should seriously get rid of one, if not both of the Mulsanne chicanes.....IMO.

About the red windscreen band thing: the factory Porsche team used to run their spare cars in practice with red windscreen bands, as opposed to the blue and white on the regular cars and yellow on the third car for Le Mans.

yeah man i totally agree with u

I am glad to hear I am not mad, there are others out there who find this clip so unbelievably intoxicating. I used to watch these wondermachines sing and dance at the old Kyalami (not the current go kart circuit we have been cursed with) Another good you made, I cannit understand why people specify they would like a radio and cd in their flat 6 Porsche - it is without doubt the most intoxicating music on this planet - Porsche is proof to the world the Germans indeed have passion.....
No hybrids, no chicanes, no diesels, no restrictions, but only real heros with balls, who dare to drive this magnificent cars. F*ck Le Mans organisation nowadays!

compare this with the nowadays less challeging lemans circuit and the boring sounding dieselengines of peugeot and audi
