REPORTER: Florida's horse abandoned tonight the Problem Solvers investigate why the third largest horse population in the country is slowly becoming too expensive to keep. Where will the horses end up? Mike Holfield has a preview.
WOMAN TO HORSE: I'm so sorry. that's my boy. Yeah, so good to see you eating.
REPORTER: Tonight, the Problem Solvers investigate the emotional world of horse rescues. We discovered more and more owners are being forced to surrender their horses because the cost to feed them is simply overwhelming.
CLAIRESE: They say, well, you probably need to give them more hay and I don't have more hay. Our hay bill alone is $500 a week.
REPORTER: We will take you to a 14-acre rescue ranch where land and resources are depleted and the horses that call this place home may be at risk.
CLAIRESE: Can I give you any number of free horses right now? That's not -- that's the easy part. It is keeping the horses that cost money
