A 1080p video shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II at 29.97fps. Edited with FCP 6 and used Compressor to get a 1.8GB H264 file. I used the Canon EF 70-200 f4 IS,EF 24-105 f4 IS and the EF 17-40 f4 IS lenses.
We traveled all around the island of Kauai on Kuhio Hwy and took a side trip to the main island of Oahu for a Paradise Cove Luau.

  • Great video,great quality! I'm thinking about picking one my self.I have a 24-105 & a 15mm fisheye alaready.& 10-22. I'm sold now ! Thx

  • @fasteddy60 You are very welcome!

  • It's good, but I can see 'jagging' on moving edges, which is the aliasing problem that seems to spoil all the Canon's. I'm thinking the Panasonic GH2 looks nicer - much less aliasing and quite a bit sharper. See 'GH2 daylight test shoot' for the best YouTube quality I'v eyet found.

  • @lindosland Unfortunately, I am heavily invested in Canon glass so a GH2 would not be in my distant future. Thanks for watching. Go to my ChadSorianoPhotoBlog(DotCom) for more videos.

  • crazzy quality cant imagine it without the youtube quality

  • Love it. Wish I had a 60D when I took my trip to Hawaii 3 years Ago.

  • All I can say is the footage was excellent I'm debating between the 5d or 7d nice short film...thank you for posting.

  • Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that a 5D with fancy lenses seems like a superior product (and I'm sure it is for stills) but I have been comparing lots of tests and just wanted to point out that despite it's high credentials the 5d does not seem capable of good sharp aliasing-free 1080 which is a disappointment to me. I realised for the first time today that 35mm film is not in '35mm format' - it's smaller of course as the frame is the other way round - so full-frame DOF is extreme!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • @danielchamorro76

as far as i know its the instrumental version of jack johnsons: "better together" from the album "in between dreams". =)
