  • sabicas is still the greatest. paco de lucia is technically brilliant but there's somthing missing in his playing. he's all facial expressions and exotic chord shapes: but his playing leaves me cold. sorry i don't think he is or ever will match the charm' and elegance of sabicas at his best.

  • For me, Sabicas is the best. What shows pretty clearly in the "modern" flamenco players is a nervous system / attention deficit problem. Paco De Lucia is great in many ways but he just doesn't have anywhere near the nervous system of Sabicas. Sabicas coaxes an almost infinite variety of sounds from the guitar, something Paco on his best day can never come close to. Paco use to play great 20 minute bulerias, but now? Sabicas is a true genuine artist not a modern "technician".

  • @6en6ible ¡Qué manía de comparar! Sí a mí también me deja frío paco con canciones como fuente y caudal, callejón del muro, almoraima, cositas buenas, la barrosa...

  • @stevenslater... SABICAS TOLD PACO "YOU ARE MY SUCCESSOR".... SO HE WAS PACO'S BIGGEST FAN ! THIS A FACT WELL KNOWN BY MANY CLOSE TO SABICAS

  • @6en6ible i believe sabicas was the king, but if you listen to earlier Paco on guitarra fabulosa you'll be hearing him when he was playing true flamenco, and sabicas called him his sucessor at that time.Sabicas also cautioned Paco never to veer to far from the roots of flamenco. But when Paco got together with dimeola he did veer too far in my opinion.I still prefer his earlier albums .

  • @ybyainc van halen did nothing more than run up and down on the pentatonic scales like most rockers

  • @btk2002 Paco pena learned from sabicas and he in no way smokes him your opinion is different than the vast majority of flamenco afficianados

  • @ybyainc If you think van halen is better than Sabicas, then you are displaying a huge lack of gray matter in your scull !

  • @vzuani what does that make YOU? you called ybyainc a moron too you FUCK! i WAS AGREEING WITH YOU DICKHEAD!

  • @mrboppman1 I agree, we are in accord. The player I love now, & I am a little bias because I have taken lessons from him and still plan to take more, is Grisha Goryachev. He has some very interesting ideas for a young man. Received his Doctorate from New England conservatory under Elliot Fisk, (who has push himself to the limits of himself & the instrument which sounds sloppy) He is an incredibly talented &humble. I just wish he'd work more on his writing than on his technique which is perfect.

  • @webhauser he copied Nino Ricardo in the beginning and although he was influenced by sabicas just listen to his early album guitarra fabulosa it's all Paco's material!

  • @stevenslater Sabicas said to Paco that "you are my successor."
