Demonstration of a key bug in PowerPoint2007 which is stopping me from upgrading. Transparent High Res PNGs are too slow to work with in the new version. If anyone has a solution, please feel free to comment.

  • Tested with Powerpoint 2010 and a very large png (1600*1200) and does not seem to be very slow.

  • Thanks for the test genericsauce. I wanted to ask if the png you tried used lots of transparency, and also if you'd mind testing with an image I send you. my images are sometimes much bigger than that res. If you don't mind doign a test with my image, that'd be great

  • @billred21. Thanks, but have you tried it? Live Preview is not what you think it is. Live Preview is what shows you your effects to your images as you hover over them in the ribbon. It doesn't turn off the live preview of dragging images. Thanks though

  • I am having this EXACT SAME issue. In my opinion, Office 2007 sucks!!! I simply refuse to use it at all. I literally can't use this software, for the same reasons as this user is clearly showing here. Great video. Thanks for posting. This explains the problem precisely. I am a graphics professional, and cannot do my job with PowerPoint 2007 at all.

  • Click on the powerpoint options and turn off live preview
