Not a great way for you to come out, but respect all the same.

Inverdale. Legend. These Olympics have rocked - absolute class athletes. Compare these guys to the yobs getting £100,000 a week to kick a football...

So if you had a child you wouldn't be proud of their achievements, or a family member overcoming cancer, or raising money for charity, or in the real extremes our country overcoming the Nazi's, or a sports team/player you support winning something, or a friend winning or achieving something...you feel that it is not something to feel passionate about? Ok, fairplay 0_0

Not great grammar here. Its their not there.
I can see where you are coming from in this respect.
However, if I put myself in the boating couple position,I would more appreciate positive comments e.g. you still did well, there is the World Championships next.Time to chill out.Have a few beers etc.than have some burk bawling!

Try and look at things from another perspective...Imagine you had a connection with someone who had trained their whole lives to achieve a gold medal and they were distraught and you had to interview them. Inverdale had compassion for these guys and to them it is the primary importance in there lives. He cared about there feelings and its especially difficult when you have to stick to a strict schedule making the encounter more intense and thus making it difficult to control emotions...

How do the bloody hell do you make that out?Bringing society to its knees.Society isn't at its knees.
Don't type shite!
Just looked up this Kay Burley.Sky news.If she does her job with allowance for emotion on a genuine remorseful report. That can't be bad.
A reporter being tearful over what is just sport is not acceptable, and not what we pay our licence fee for.
You need to look at what is really to be passionate about in life.

It's people like you have brought society to its knees...Would you rather see a bunch of robotic, heartless kay burleys smothered across much of our screens? This is a great emotive TV moment, how dare you belittle the heartbreak, it's called passion something you seem to know little about.
