This video seeks to explore the common Christian belief that the 'rest' Christ offered in Matthew 11:28 somehow replaces the rest of the Sabbath day.

What we find is that the theme of rest that Jesus offers us is a different theme of rest that the seventh-day Sabbath is based on. As such, the catch-phrase "I rest in Christ" is actually the product of a mixed-metaphor and does not apply to the Sabbath day.

  • The ancient holy Israelis would generally have family Sabbath gathering Friday evening until bed time, then wake up early and head to the corporate assembly to tarry there from morning until night. Sometimes they would have continuation of Sabbaths called Havdallahs, this would lead to even higher realms of Glory. I have never found a church that faithfully keeps the Sabbaths in Yahoshua ha Moshiach like the scripture states. Not even Messianic are into it. Do you believe in keeping in this way?

  • @yahokobbenyah In short, yes I do believe in keeping Sabbath/Shabbat in that way. No buying/selling, no secular work, gathering with family, convening for corporate worship, no cooking (we prefer to eat whole foods that do not require cooking such as fruits and nuts) but food that was made in advance is acceptable, spending that time furthering our knowledge and strengthening our relationship to the Father, is how we observe Sabbath.

  • Who give the rest ? God or Sabbath ? Jesus came to give us the rest... this is biblical. Other time, God enter in relationship with us by the law, today, he enter in relationship with us by Christ, the new covenant... and our only mediator.

  • @an35tares I would humbly ask that you watch the rest of the video for all of your points are answered.

  • Question for you then... Why did Jesus said for his disciples to pray for the day for them to flee from Jerusalem don't fall on the Sabbath day or winter on the time of the destruction from the Romans to come? Jesus knew that he would be dead and resurrected by then, he could only had said pray for it to don't be on a winter but why why why did he had to add the sabbath in it???????????? Maybe he got confused and forgot that his death would take care of it ?????????

  • @GallantMind I've read your post thrice through and I have to admit that I'm not sure what you mean. The passage found in Matt 24:20 is actually good proof that Christ intended for the Sabbath to continue past His death & ressurection; else why instruct His disciples to continue to regard it?

Are we making the same point here? We might be.

  • @EraunaoGraphe I agree 100 percent with what you say in all of your videos.

I hear some people say that Christ our Saviour is their sabbath, that is just wrong. Christ's 7th day Sabbath is a 24 hour period of time.

  • Saviours 7day Sabbath is a 24 hour time period, not Christ our Saviour.

  • @EraunaoGraphe Thank you for your kind response! You have no idea how much this encouraged me hearing that you are into revival like ancient Israel! Right now, I live in the Bible belt in western North Carolina and I haven't found anyone who is willing to keep the Sabbaths as the scripture states for refreshing. People just don't understand the beauty of God's commandments and the blessings that flow out of the Olive Tree. I am planning on moving out of this dry Bible belt very soon, back to Fl.

  • Most Christians do not know how to keep the Sabbath even if they believe in honoring it. God commands us to not cook on the Sabbaths, to not buy and sell on the Sabbaths, to not do any "secular work" (if you will) on the Sabbaths, to not travel far on the Sabbaths, and to have Holy Convocations (Revival Gatherings) on the Sabbaths. This way everyone tarries together in one accord at one place to pray, praise, worship, fast from all lawlessness, etc... until the Glory appears. Continue:

  • I have been watching youtube for a while, and your videos are my favorite videos. Have you read some of Bachiocchi's book. He has past away, I met him several times.

Your videos are not only interesting to me but they have come in my life at a time when I want to trust God like I have not in the past.

  • the sabbath of the 'ten commandments' is SATURDAY!
