An estimated 200,000 plus cars have been sold as part of the "Cash for Clunkers" program. But, as Jeff Glor reports, dealers aren't so sure their business is benefiting.

  • there should have been stricter requirements, like the vehicle was rusted out, smoked, wrecked, or dangerous, wouldnt pass a smog test/inspection.....so that a perfectly fine car wouldnt go......get the true clunkers off the road, not the soon to be classics and the good daily drivers that a less fortunate person could use. my 1986 suburban didnt go, i never thought of it....it would have made me a profit conciderin i bought it for $800, but i wouldnt have let her go if the gvmt offered me $10K

  • Funny, The Govt bailed out Gm now they offer cash for clunker in hopes of making business better for GE, but more toyotas were sold than any other brand. Also we were forced to pay for both the bail out and The Cash for clunkers plan. Great I hope things don't continue like this , because if they do i will have little hope for our great country.

  • What's cheaper car payment or spark plugs?

  • OBAMA = EPIC FAIL

ill keep my 1989 Ford F-250 4X4 with a 460 cubic inch (7.5L) V8, my 1995 Jeep Cherokee sport that have never let me down and can do anything i throw at em.

cuz when i need to haul firewood so i can heat my house i need a truck with torque you just cant substitute and an 8 foot bed.

  • A success?!! Not from my point of view. My kids and their kids will have to pay for all this government spending insanity.

Besides I don't want to scrap my paid for car for a CLUNKER and have more debt on top of what I have already O.O

  • I've seen a few video's on here so far of this program is bullshit. The first upsetting thing is them fucking up perfectly good cars. The second thing is how much they are giving for these, way too much, should have been 1-2k at most. Another thing I noticed was that most of these cars were 90's-200X which doesn't do many of us good with older cars. Hell I like my 87 300zx and it still gets 25mpg. It also doesn't have OBDII "we're watching you" plug. I'll keep my old polluting car thank you.

  • A success? No. A success would had being if the government would had imposed heavy restrictions to it. Like only domestic owned (GM and Ford) cars quality and no vehicles older than 10-years old. During this messy C.A.R.S. week I've seen at my local Cadillac and GMC dealerships perfectly good vehicles some not even exceeding the 80K miles turn-in for a new debt with no more than 4-MPG than what they use to drive.... To-be Continued >

  • firs....hack...gag (squid was strangled by the haters of the first clan)
