@balthica A point well made, but I prefer to sound my horn while sitting on the horse rather than standing.

He looks like he's really getting into the music... yeah. Playing isn't bad though, pretty good to be honest.

Honestly, as long as he performed well, which he certainly did, who care's if he sat or stood? Maybe his foot hurt that day =)

Command of the stage for one. It's an instrument born of battle and the hunt. Sitting down doesn't quite portray that image to the crowd. This is a performing art - it is theatre.
Projection another. You can use bell direction more easily when standing and there is a tendency for the sound to muffle when seated.
Ability to turn to the conductor more easily so you are constantly in visual as well as aural touch, third.
A good player and I'm sure he could stand and deliver.
