Press Release: http://bit.ly/ahuHn2

A new series of updates I've started, since ESO's VLT is going to be around longer than Hubble and with the discoveries it's making such as this, it should make for a very interesting series.

  • I have read that CY Canis Majoris is the biggest?... But is it ?

  • @yogi1707 VY Canis Majoris is the largest star discovered so far (ie. it has the greatest diameter) but R136a1 is the most massive, meaning it has the greatest mass of all stars yet discovered, meaning its the heaviest.

  • Which video do this music belong to Miika 153? If you don't knwo the link. It's okey...

  • @ozlemcan69 Search: "A Haunting Memory" Orchestral Guitar Epic

  • I subbed, this is great i love the universe..."we should be using all the money wasted on wars and nukes to put it in to our space programs and come together as one and travel the universe together"-bill hicks

  • @ps2peter Oh so very true. If that happened Obama wouldn't have cut NASA's budget. :(

    Thanks for the sub :)

  • I remember hearing about this when this star was first discovered. Anyone out there willing to say no star can be larger than 320 solar masses? Given the size of the universe(?), I would say not...

  • @Roeybros Im in 9th grade and i know that -_- ,god

  • Imagine if R136a1 dies. Imagine the worlds biggest black hole.

  • 'Dat Mass

  • @TheUniverseUnfolded except that vy canis majoris will have a greater supernova and maybe a more massive hypernova

  • I think that I can put this in perspective, this is my own idea. Consider VY Canis Majoris to be a skippy ball, and R136a1 to be a bowling ball, while our earth has the size of a pinhead. Cheers !
