Daft Innovations www.daftinnovations.com 3.2 liter inline 6 l-series oldschool datsun motor! ld28 block, ld28 stroker crank, z20 6 inch rods, 90mm ka24 piston's, big ass valves, 480/280 camshaft. Will see 8400 rpm. I have a 3/4 race cam 514 lift that will get this motor into 9k rpm range! ka24e transmission with old school l-series bell housing on it. Triple 45mm SK racing side draft carbs.

  • You at Daft Innovations should have started that engine much harder...you should have cranked it for at least five seconds or more!

  • oh sorry! lol why should I have cranked it so long ? I could care less if it starts first try or not. If I cared I could have taken that out of the video! anyways motor is out and is in a datsun 810 now. :)

  • CamHenlin, it's a L28 with a taller LD28 block...

  • yes your correct! 90mm ka24 pistons, z20 rods, yada yada yada!

  • That's definitely not an LD28, looks like a regular L-series with triples.

  • It's a ld28 block and crank. Block was heavily modified to work with a gasoline head. I used the ld28 bloc so I could fit a longer rod. people that use diesel crank in combo with l28 block can only run 5.24 240z rods. With the ld28 block and diesel crank i can run the 6 inch z20 rod. Better Rod/Stroke Ratio! :)

  • Got any incar vids? Does this beast pull good?

  • mmmmm there it is

  • What all was envoled with this swap? Custom mounts, eta?

  • @ilovesilvia69

There's nothing remotely stock about this type of build. LD28s converted to gas are like snowflakes...each one is a unique. Even just mating a LD crank and 280Z block with 240 rods requires special machining at the skirts of each cylinder and there's numerous compression combos that come from pistons, deck shaving, crazy thick head gaskets, etc. Then chose what head to flow and induction type-F.I. w/ 1 or 2 turbos, triple Webers, Clifford 4 barrel, etc. 300-400+hp is attainable=$

  • Bro i Wanted to know how Reliable these motors are and wats your MPG im looking to do a swap like this in a 93 240sx

  • how muhc power do you think this setup is running?

  • Sweet.......I remember this one on the forums.

Nice to see and hear it's sweet goodness.

  • sickk will the bell housing work with my ka24de? if so what else is needed? also what is the stock hp of these 240 260 280z motors?

  • Pretty odd swap but i like it. Was it hard to do?
