World Models Super Cub on Skis Practicing Takeoffs and Landings On A Snowy Morning

Gopro Hero HD onboard this World Models 1/5 scale Cub on Dubro skis flying during a recent snowstorm. This winter has been tough in the Northeast, U.S., with very cold temperatures and the recent Christmas Blizzard. So what is an R/C hobbyist to do in these tough times? Throw on the skis, charge the batteriesand fill up the fuel tank. The winds are calm, so there is no excuse for not taking to the skies today! This Cub has an O.S. 81fs with onboard Sullivan ignition system, Robart scale Cub landing gear and a simple rotating camera mount on top of the wing at C.G. for some Gopro HD panning inflight.

when you had the camera mounted on the wing did you have to put weight on the other side to balance it?

@CLayaway1 Believe it or not, I did not counterweight the aircraft. Just put in a few clicks of opposite aileron trim and it flew just fine! Gopro is very light, especially without the protective cover... ;-)

Had my first snow flights this afternoon. I use floats that are actually sold for a funcub but work perfectly on my rc plane. Only can't find my camera $%%^^&!

thats sweet. i have a set of skis for mine. i have the same plane. what engine you have in it? i am running Saito 1.15 and Spektrum radio. high torque HI-tech servo on the rudder.
