@OddTimeMan well said.

Why are you playing a rhythm section with the switch down, and the highs with the switch up? Just curious.
-
@PilotDoofy You're still a kid to me. I started playing guitar several years before you were born.
-
@PilotDoofy Wow, seriously? Ever hear of Jeff Beck? Considered by many to be the greatest guitarist of our time. He uses Fender Hot Noiseless Ceramic Magnet Pickups, developed for him. Gibsons ceramic pickups are in their Explorer & Flying V models. There are countless pro's who play those guitars. Ever hear of Steve Vai? Yep, DiMarzio ceramics in his Ibanez. And the list goes on and on. You have much to learn, young man! And the insults are very immature by the way. You sure you're not 12?

@OddTimeMan and I'm 27
-
@OddTimeMan Hm let's see, I don't see any boutique pickups with ceramic pickups. Cool, you're older than me! too bad your years of experiences haven't given you a good ear. i'd be interested to hear your playing too...

@PilotDoofy Kid, I've been playing & building guitars & speaker cabs since the '70's. And I've worked at music stores in the '80's and in recent years. MANY pros use ceramic magnet pickups! They have more treble bite, more output, and more clarity than warm, round, low output alnico magnet pickups. One is not better than the other, they are just different. How old are you?
-
@PilotDoofy First of all, how am I "misinformed"? For years I've been saying with solid-body electric guitars, MOST of your tone come from your electronics. Secondly, when did I ever say that these guitars sounded the same??? Yes, the fakes usually have microphonic pickups but that's an easy fix.
-
@demilieu LOL No they didn't. The first Fender electric guitar (a Broadcaster in 1950) was made of alder and maple. they used ash and alder both in the early years and offered a wider variety as the days went on. But please, read up on PreCBS fender...
@TheEpimaniac There's nothing magical about Gibsons. Electric guitars are just hardwoods & simple electronics, it isn't rocket science. There are MANY guitars in this world made with the same or similar woods & electronics as Gibson, resulting in the same or similar results. You think no one has ever copied Gibson's design, materials & construction? Besides, most of your overall sound comes from your amp, not your guitar.
