thanks for that,,,, lol I always keep another window open so I can see who the players are on all these great bands...this one was great.....when life was easier...

Any guitar player in the 60's had to learn from and admire this group.

@thelistener13 All of the early 60's Ventures music is what I was born and raised on. I am now 50 and still love these guys.

This, I believe, was my dad's favorite group. I hear these guys and I am a very little kid again. I was born and raised on the Ventures. There has never, before or since, any group that even comes close to touching them, for instrumental music. RIP Bob!

By an "accident of talent", Bob Bogle was original lead guitarist of The Ventures. When Nokie joined the group, Bob and Don realized Nokie's lead skills were unparallelled, and the lineup changed to Bogle on bass, Nokie on lead. Thus evolved one of the three great bassists in the history of rock: James Jamerson, Bob Bogle and Paul McCartney. In straight "rock and roll", others have equaled those three. None have surpassed them.

Ever since my dad brought home a series of venture records vinyl in 1973 at the age of eight the ventures are the result of my guitar playing the inspiration they have given to so many still lives on inside me as I continue to drive guitars faithfully

R.I.P. Bob & Mel. Because of you I have many great memories with my family on road trips all over the U.S. with my family in the 80s and 90s. : )
What great memories this brings back. He will certainly be missed.
