Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida offers transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for the treatment of aortic stenosis, for patients who cannot undergo open heart surgery. The Holy Cross Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Center houses a Valve and Structural Heart Disease Clinic which evaluates whether or not patients are eligible for TAVR. The procedure is performed by a team of interventional cardiologists, cardiovascular thoracic surgeons, anesthesiologist and nurses in the hospital's 2,000 square-foot Hybrid Operating Room. TAVR brings new hope to patients in South Florida who cannot undergo open heart surgery.
