@windstorm1000 I attended the 1976 Ring, I confess (and have said so before) I did not get his concept, but that still doesn't mean I like it. I didn't and don't. I don't agree though, that he is without talent, I just think he's had a lot more opportunity to foist his weird ideas onto opera-going public than he merits. The best explanation for what the Centenarry Ring was attempting to do is actually written in an essay by Pierre Boulez, "Le Temps Recherche." It was published with the LPs.

Well, it's not quite that simple. There are plenty of singers who don't shake but don't sound very good either.
