You've got a nice technique and spirited playing. I wasn't aware of what I was listening to because it's subtle. It's a good sound. Now that you mentioned it I can hear the drive and Envelope filter. It's just enough to get a little funk under the fingers but, you don't sound like a wah wah. Nice video. The drummer did a nice job too. Keep up the good work Jim.

@hahabass Thanks for the kind words, glad you came back to hear again! These days I'm working on a few things. Mainly trying to play an 8 string Hybrid Guitar like Charlie Hunter, pretty intense! I should post a video soon, I just need to practice more!!!

Man, just revisited your channel. As Awwwesome as the first time round. What are you doing these days?
How do you get that tone....I have the exact same bass as you (I even have it as the neck-through model, twice the $ if you have a bolt-on) and I can't even get that tone...

@squiresuzuki Thanks! The bass was first recorded direct and after I added compression, overdrive and an autofilter. You can probably get a similar tone with pedals in that combination. I often find Compression Drive and Envelope filters to be pretty funky. The drive boosts the bass' natural harmonics while the filter sweeps through the frequency range really make the sound come alive.

@AjTheBro Thanks, although I must admit I'm nowhere near his greatness and don't expect to be, everyone has their own voice I suppose I'm still working on mine, just glad you enjoyed. I did get to play with him once though!!!
