Your message really hit home base. To have a debt upward of 50 Trillion dollars IS A CRIME. To leave this debt for your children to pay off is..........

Jackson is really maligned because of his policy towards the Native Americans. I don't think it's something to be proud of.
But, Jackson was right about the bank.

I just finished watching: The Secret of Oz - Winner, Best Docu of 2010 - that's where I learned President Andrew Jackson paid off the national debt, and as an added bonus, an assassin tried to kill him with 2 pistols and missed (or something like that)

Ron Paul is not the first presidential candidate wanting to eliminate the Federal Reserve. Reagan wanted to do it, JFK wanted to do it...
Everybody should see this video because the point is made very clearly through thhe comparison with history. Ron Paul is the only chance for 2012.

Andrew Jackson was cruel to native americans but he did also accomplish one of the greatest acheivements of any president. He abolished the 2nd BUS and paid off the national debt. If JFK lived we would be in a much different situation bc he tried to abolish the Federal Reserve.

Nice video. All your facts are accurate, with the exception of the mispronunciation of Ben Bernanke's last name.

Andrew Jackson came up with the spoiled system. I blame him for every problem we see today.

true that!

I'd be happy if we DIDN'T BORROW ANY MONEY from this point on.

It was actually Jefferson that came up with the Indian Removal Act. It was just Jackson that implemented it.
Has anyone here ever heard of the Panic of 1837? You know, the economic collapse that was a direct result of Andrew Jackson's PISS POOR fiscal policies? I mean for Christ's sake... way to pick and choose your history to make it appear to support your misguided point.

@thebordox - the economy collapsed because Biddle had the power to crash it by calling in loans and freezing the money supply. that is what he warned jackson he would do ... and he did it. the economy continued to flounder afterwards because van buren was largely ineffective when it came to economic matters.

Andrew Jackson also made it his mission to exterminate the Native Americans, even disobeying a supreme court order. He was a cold hearted monster.

Won't argue with you that he was NOT loved by the Native Americans. He was, by no means, the only one who was guilty of mistreating them. The common belief at the time was that they simply would never be able to assimilate. Lots of apologies are owed by a lot of people from that time.
