  • The news reading woman in yellow cloth is called Helge Prinsen - the interviewing woman (not seen, only heared in the film by voice) is Anke Tanihatu. They both work for the broadcast organisation Omroep Zeeland in the Zeeland province in the south-west region of the Netherlands.

  • @phbakx Thank you very much for detailed comments :)

  • TO PHYLLOBOLUS: The news readingwoman starts: In the year 2009 the Jew's harp trio Aubergine stopped performing because they had enough after all those years. But when a specialist for Jew's harp music, Oleg Rodnin from Sankt Peterburg asked for publication of the Подвальные Сессии (Souterrain Sessies)in Russia, the trio starts again their vargan-performances. ----- 0'28: In 2009 we realeased a box of 4 CD's of the Подвальные Сессии as a Dutch version. It were totally 73 tracks on 4 CD's. >>>>>

  • @phbakx Wow! Great news!!! :)

  • @phbakx Even greater news!!! :)

  • The song performed here on the film by these three Dutch vargan-players Izzy Иззы ван Ельк, Фонс Бакс и Йанус Филиус is called Голубой цветок (Blue Flower/ Blauwe Bloem).

  • Thank you very much for the information, Phons!

Could you, please, write something about the contents of the broadcast? I could only understand "Rusland", "варган" and "варганное трио Обержин" :)

  • Aftter that it will be great pleasure to have some performances in Sankt Peterburg and areas. >That will be great for this trio. It's for the expansion of a very excentric genre of music, that we Dutch guys reach a good musical reputation in Russia because of this very unique music publication on CD. ---- If you are interested, contact Oleg Rodnin and his muisc shop. Good luck.

Greetings from Phons Bakx, Izzy van Elk en Janus Filius from the area Zeeland in the Netherlands.

  • ---- 1'44: the woman: How do you translate Jew's harp Trio Aubergine into Russian? My answer: варганное трио Обержин. - woman: That sounds beautiful! my reply: vargan is the instrument. --- than you watch throught the interior of my house -- 2'12 You think that a Russian CD-box will make you rich? answer: I don't think so. >>>>

  • The text of Franz Kumpl: Развитие музыкальных композиций напоминает „Сама“, исступленный танец суфийских дервишей, медленно начинающийся, дающий почувствовать инструменты и друг друга, прогрессирующий до неистовства, полета и потока и постепенно приземляющийся - но оставляющий музыкантам и слушателям приятные ощущения от совместного путешествия в пространстве и времени. Ниже сказанное о дервишах можно применить и об этих варганистах: "обращаясь к истине, идущий познает любовь >>>>

  • Oleg Rodnin requested for specimens of these 4-CD-series to sell in Russia. I replied that it was a good moment to start a Russian version of the Underground Sessions. Oleg Rodnin started to translate all the accompanying CD-texts and CD-track-titles. I did the new design of the CD and it was so impressive for me to do because I cannot talk or understand the Russian language. --- beside that: I asked Franz Kumpl from Vienna if he would write a text on the backside of the CD-booklets. >>>
