42 Cities Worldwide came together on one day to push one message! "FREE LOLITA"

"In August 1970, Lolita the orca was brutally captured from her family pod near Seattle, Washington. In the capture, five whales died and seven were taken to aquariums.

Lolita was sent to the Miami Seaquarium, where she has been forced to live in a tank so small, it violates USDA/APHIS standards. The tank, which is no larger than a hotel swimming pool, is just 35 ft by 80 ft. In the center, it is 20 ft deep and around the edges just 12 feet deep... keep in mind, Lolita is 22 feet long and over 7,000 lbs -- and that wild orcas swim up to 100 miles a day, at up to 35 miles an hour.

Wild orcas remain with their families for life, yet Lolita has not been allowed to see another orca in 30 years (since March 1980, when her tankmate, Hugo, smashed his head against a wall and died).

It is time to RETIRE LOLITA"

  • Hi there, Holland here, you made a very good video!! It's really good. Only a pity that holland was not in the video itself. But we will not give up, because she belongs to her family.

Again, thank you very much for taking the time of making this video!!

  • @pentagram333 hey did you send me pictures to add?

  • @blitziee the orca who played Willy was named Keiko. Near the end of his life, he returned to human care because he could not find his pod. He was fed and nurtured and eventually he died from pnemonia. Lolita is very different, first off we know exactly where her pod is. Secondly, she might not even be released. If there are any doubts about her well being in the wild she would be kept in a seapen in Washington state, where she could be looked after.

  • ALL ORCAS BELONG IN THE OCEAN...WITH THERE FAMILIES...NOT IN TANKS PROFORMING TRICKS....SET HER FREE....THINK OF HER NOT ABOUT YOURSELF... SHE WASNT BORN TO BE IN THIS TANK.. SHE WAS BORN TO BE FREE...TO ROAM WITH HER FAMILY...WHERE EVER THEY WANT....

  • Free her!

  • YOU TAKEN HER FROM A POD OF 58 IN 1970, AND ALSO KILLING FOUR CALVES IN THE STRUGGLE....I THINK THAT WAS ENOUGH...THIS POOR BEAUTIFUL CREATURE, WHEN ARE HUMAN BEINGS GOING TO FUCKIN USE THAT THING GOD GAVE THEM--A BRAIN...YOU CANT KEEP THIS LARGE ANIMAL IN A FISHTANK--FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE HER SOME TIME BACK--LET HER GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • -Poor Lolita suffers. Every single day. It's been proven that she still remembers her family. We knew exactly where her family is. I'm not asking that she be retried, I'm asking that she be set free.

    She and poor Kshamenk...

  • Personally, I think people need to leave SeaWorld out of this. All their animals are provided with large environments, medical care, proper nutrition and they get to live with their families. Besides that, SeaWorld does not take animals from the wild. They work to preserve those in the wild. Rescue and rehabilitate? Yes. But when possible, they always return their animals.

  • @brianwh76 Nothing makes me an expert. It's called an opinion. Plus i have researched on this topic many times. There are even scientists out there that said Keiko shouldn't have been freed. They are experts. And yes a trainer was killed by Tillikum, an orca that has had several incidents in the past. She wasn't killed by an orca used for waterworks. Doesn't mean SW doesn't take good care of their animals. Besides people can get killed anywhere so that's not a good argument.

  • @jj08262006 actually, sea world has the best vet care or any kind of care period for the orcas. Idk why yall don't see that. SW treats their animals better than any place i've been to. Along with many orcas Lolita can be with.

  • @pekepup do your research. The dolphins belong to the toothed whales, and therefore all dolphins are whales!

  • that fish bowl is wayyyyyyy to small for an orca that big and thats just so cruel that they take her from her family and make her perform for almost 4 decades....unbelievable

  • But someone should do alittle more Research on what Type of animal she truly is

Lolita Is Not A Whale, She is the Largest of her kind, a Dolphin...they get the name

" killer Whales" from the way they surround a whale and kill it... Other wise good job on video. And if you already knew that and calling her " a Whale" was just a slip of the tongue... Apologies.

  • @amberE022 She should absolutely NOT be sent to Sea World they are in NO WAY an example of how killer whales should be treated. She should be put in a much larger tank though as releasing her into the world would very likely kill her.
