04/18/08 - Joe Dante introduces his film The Second Civil War at the New Beverly Theater during his "Dante's Inferno" film festival.
The film earned Beau Bridges a primetime Emmy award in 1997. It was produced by Barry Levinson and features performances by Beau Bridges, James Earl Jones, Phil Hartman, James Coburn, Ron Perlman, Dan Hedaya, Elizabeth Pena, Dennis Leary... and of course Dick Miller. It also features a cameo by b-movie great Roger Corman.
"Dante's Inferno" is a two week festival of Dante-programmed double features at the New Beverly Cinema. (04/09/08 - 04/22/08)

Man, this "Dante's Inferno" event looks like it was terrific. Would love to have known about it, as Dante is one of my favorite directors. The New Beverly does a lot of great screenings. I wish I lived closer to L.A.

Bought this film on DVD recently, it really was an interesting film. Dante did an outstanding job on it.
