My goal is to be the most aggressive, clinical, efficient and stealthy recon player using predominantly the M98B single bolt sniper rifle. That means being able to regularly walk away from 1vs4 cluster-fuck-battles against players with semi-automatics. From what I've seen from YouTube vids, such feats only seem possible from PC players using keyboards and mice.

Why can't this be achieved using a joypad on the higher/highest sensitivity settings?

My current opinion when weighing up the pros and cons are:
Advantages: less effort to check corners when advancing, better odds in a knife battle, faster 180 turns enable you to either run away or go for broke if caught unsuspectedly by the enemy, less physical discomfort on my hands.
Disadvantages: greater discipline required when taking aim.

I've asked; Merkent, TheWhiteMantis, and so many other Battlefield 3 playing beasts what sensitivity they use for the Playstation 3. They all protest using less than the default speed.

For some reason, when I try default / slow speeds, the outcome always a combination of the following:
a) after 10min my brittle old hands physically hurt
b) I get completely and utterly pwned by my opponent

Battlefield 3 is my first ever experience playing a FPS properly. I've embarked on a huge learning curve and it doesn't help that my high-sensitivity usage appear to be counter intuitive to my goals for this game, according to the "pros" I know and who's opinions I respect.

However, going against the grain like the stubborn old git that I am, appears to paying off. My sensitivity is one notch away from the highest. How long it will stay that way is anyone's guess, as I will continue to perfect my settings to my playing style. In my previous montage my sensitivity was about 8 notches from maximum sensitivity.

You've just read my pros and cons in the earlier paragraph. What are any other disadvantages can you think of that I've neglected?

What other aiming tips would you give a beginner like myself? Am I going about this all wrong?

Please let me know your thoughts in the description below.
