During recording times of It Won't Be Soon Before Long as usual Maroon 5 filled time collaborating to various projects, one of them being "Different Strokes for Different Folks" compilation by legendary Sly and the Family Stone. In a critics' words, "You may only know "Everyday People" from Toyota commercials, or recognize it from Arrested Development's "People Everyday," but Maroon 5 bring new life to this rock classic. The song's message of tolerance and equality still resonates today." I couldn't agree more. Bless history of music, and the worshipping attitude Maroon have towards eternal classics. I love when they get completly soul, like here. Adam's voice just gets perfect becoming soul influenced, just because his heart stays exactly there where the deepest things are.
Enjoy.
That whole record is amazing, and with genius people involved.
Enjoy. With Lyrics.

  • OMG I did this song in dance class it's really awsome

  • Glad you like it. It's actually one of my fav covers by M5. You can feel how much lyrics are felt when they are sung. Which matters, you know. Cool that you do dance classes. Dance is a wonderful thing :)

  • i thought i woulden't like it, but it's actually kinda good.

  • It actually really is, yep ;)

  • Adam's voice is a God given gift. Sure the original version is wonderful, but to say this can't holde a candle to it is painfully wrong.

  • This really rocks! Thanks for sharing.

  • I wonder if they got the name for the TV show, "Different Strokes" from this song back in the 1970s?

  • @OAGERR AHHHHHHH wer twins!!!! were learing a dance in dance class to this song

  • whos the girl singing in the chorus?

  • JAM ON MAROON5 / SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE!!!

  • this is a good band and my man has a wicked voice, and i give them props for approaching this song in an original way... but i can't really dig it. for me, the meaning of the song was lost, drowned out by overproduction. i would have liked to see them do this song in a more broken down arrangement, with an acoustic drum kit! just my opinion! but again i am pumped that they chose to interprate this classic all the same

  • I LOVE IT!

    Maroon 5 never dissapoints me.

  • This is alright, I hate the electric drum kit though.
