@mmoyer208 It says "All-Reserved Coach" but that means that you had to buy a ticket/make a reservation before boarding. As for where you sit, it's first come-first serve. The "All-Reserved" system has actually made it more difficult for many passengers (especially on the Northeast Corridor) because in the olden days, you used to just be able to buy a ticket and get on a train if there was room.
Great Video!!!! This past October I took a train from Elizabetown to NYC. Stayed at a motel right next to the tracks past Rheems Interlocking around the 4:25 mark. Around midnight a NS train came up the #1 track and was doing switching at the siding. I had a hard time sleeping for the rest of the night. Could here the engine and them banging the cars.
what i dont understand is the train faces the right way leaving NY but faces the wrong way leaving Philadelphia. because going west u back track through zoo interlocking to head towards harrisburg. how do they do that?

on amtrak, is there assigned seating? like if you are in coach class, can you sit anywhere in a coach car?
