I know that you may laugh , but I heard this song as a young boy and dreamed to sing it to some special woman in my life. Never happened ....just a hopeless romantic. This song will always remain my most favourite in life.Thank you for posting.

@MrBertstown Mick Grabham was a good choice as this track sounds very much like Procol Harum in fact i'd love to hear Procol do this.

A tremendous tune! It was played a short while ago on Brian Matthews' 'Sounds of the Sixties' show on BBC Radio 2.
I haven't heard it for ages and always thought it was Long John Baldry singing.
