Once a platted portion of Hide-A-Way Hills, Kessler Swamp is now under the ownership and protection of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources through a generous donation. While Hocking county nature preserves usually showcase rare geological formations, the swamp plays home to various wildlife rare plant species. It is a host for water foul stopover and has even received its fair share of Bald Eagle sightings.
Kessler Swamp is located less than 1/4 mile from the front gates of Hide-A-Way Hills and certainly deserves a quick stop if you're visiting the area. For More Info On Hide-A-Way hills Visit http://www.hide-a-wayhillsrealestate.com/
It's nice to see someone posting the beauties of hocking county. Frank Kessler, the man who donated the property, was my great uncle. Must've been a very generous man, indeed.
